Elstead Morris Single Small Table Lamp - Gold & Black

Same story, smaller scale

This is the compact version of the Morris lamp, a rounded porcelain vase covered in fine gold scrollwork over a deep black glaze. It has plenty of detail packed into a smaller footprint, which makes it easier to place than its larger sibling without losing any of the character.

In Gold and Black, the porcelain sits on a polished dark wood base and carries a cream polycotton shade with neat pleats running from top to bottom, finished with a small brass coloured finial.

How it works

A single E27 bulb sits inside, and since this is a Class I fitting it must be earthed properly when wired in. Pick a dimmable bulb if you want to control the mood as well as the light level.

Where it works best

Because it's smaller, this lamp suits spots where the larger version would feel like too much: a bedside table, a hallway shelf, an occasional table beside an armchair or as one half of a pair flanking a fireplace.
