The Morris table lamp takes its shape from an antique ginger jar, its rounded porcelain body wrapped in gold and rust toned scrollwork against a deep black glaze. This smaller version keeps every detail of the design while shrinking the footprint, so it fits comfortably on a bedside table or a narrow console where the full size lamp would feel too large.

The porcelain vase is finished in a glossy black glaze with fine gold scrollwork and warm rust toned foliage wrapping the body, gathering into denser bands of ornament at the neck and base. It sits on a dark polished wood plinth and is topped with a cream polycotton shade, pleated from rim to rim and finished with a small brass coloured acorn finial.

How It Works

A single E27 bulb fits inside the lamp holder, not included, so you can choose the tone and brightness you want. It's a Class I fitting, so it must be properly earthed when it's wired to a plug, and it will dim if you fit a dimmable bulb and use it with a compatible dimmer switch.

Where It Works Best

The smaller scale makes this version easier to place than the standard Morris lamp, suiting a bedside table, a hallway console, an occasional table beside an armchair, or one half of a pair either side of a fireplace or sideboard. Its dark, jewel toned finish works well against traditional furniture, warm woods and richly coloured walls.
