A lantern that swings out from the wall

The Miners Single Wall Lantern is the wall mounted member of the range, fixed to a round backplate edged with a rope pattern rim and reaching out on a curved bracket so the lantern hangs just clear of the wall. Underneath, a crossed wire guard wraps around a tapered, seeded glass shade with a domed cap sitting above it, echoing the portable lamps the design takes its shape from.

Old Bronze finish

Cast in steel and finished in Old Bronze, the surface is deliberately uneven, dark in places and warmer in others, giving the impression of metal that has already spent years outdoors. It sits well against the clear, bubbled texture of the seeded glass shade beneath it, which softens the light rather than showing a bare bulb.

How It Works

Fit a single E27 LED bulb inside (not supplied) and the light spreads out through the seeded glass rather than throwing a single direct beam. It's a Class I fitting, so it needs to be properly earthed on installation, and it will dim if you use a dimmable bulb, though we'd always recommend a qualified electrician carries out the wiring.

Either side of a front door, along a boundary wall, at the entrance to a courtyard or beside a garage, this wall lantern earns its place wherever you want a bit of old fashioned character alongside practical light. Rated IP44, it's built to handle rain and damp air, so it can stay outside all year without special shelter.

The Miners range takes its name and its silhouette from the portable lamps once carried by hand, and Elstead, a British decorative lighting group and distributor whose story traces back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire and remains led by the Lucas family, has kept that shape going across wall, pedestal and pendant versions. It works well as a pair either side of a doorway, or on its own where a single light is enough.

Does the Miners wall lantern come with a bulb? No. It takes a single E27 LED bulb, which isn't included, so you'll need to fit one that suits the fitting before use.
