Elstead Medstead Single Half Lantern with PIR - Black

This is the same half lantern shape as the standard Medstead, hexagonal and flush to the wall, but with a passive infrared sensor built into the base plate so it can switch itself on when it detects movement nearby.

Finished in matte black cast metal with the same scalloped crown and pointed finial, the sensor housing sits low and unobtrusive beneath the lantern itself rather than as an add on box.

How it works

One E27 lamp holder is fitted inside (bulb not included). This version is wired to Class I, so it needs an earth connection, and it will dim if you use a dimmable LED.

Where it works best

Side gates, back doors and driveways, anywhere you want a light to come on by itself rather than relying on someone flicking a switch in the dark.

The standard Medstead without the sensor is also available, for anyone who prefers a manual switch instead.
