Elstead Mansion House Single Wall Lantern - Verdigris

There is a slightly ecclesiastical look to the Mansion House lantern, all sharp angles and a domed cap punctuated with rows of pierced holes that let light spill out in patterns, even though what is actually inside is a single modern LED lamp rather than a candle.

This version comes in verdigris, the pale green patina that solid brass takes on naturally over years outdoors, already worked into the metal here so you get the aged look from day one rather than waiting for the weather to do it. The glass panels are clear and bevelled, keeping the light bright and visible from the street.

How it works

One E27 lamp holder sits behind the glass (bulb not included, so bring your own LED). It is wired to Class I, meaning it needs an earth connection, and it will dim if you fit dimmable bulbs, though it will not dim on its own with a standard lamp.

Where it works best

Porches, front doors and anywhere with a bit of period character to match. It also copes well with coastal exposure since the finish is designed to look weathered rather than hide it.
