Magro swaps the usual turned lamp column for two slender, angled uprights that lean toward each other like a small easel, capped with a broad rectangular shade. It suits a room where the rest of the lamps feel a bit too traditional, or where you want one fitting with a more architectural silhouette than a standard bedside lamp.

The frame is finished in polished nickel, a bright, mirror like plate that picks out every mitred edge along the angled legs and rectangular base. Above it sits a rectangular shade in light grey polycotton, trimmed along the top and bottom hem in a darker charcoal grey band that gives the shade a crisp, tailored edge.

How It Works

A single E27 bulb sits behind the shade, out of direct view, and is switched via an inline rocker on the cable rather than a switch on the base itself, so you can turn the lamp on before it is within easy reach. Fit a dimmable E27 bulb and Magro will respond to a dimmer, so the same lamp can run as a brighter reading light or a low background glow.

Where It Works Best

Standing around 63.5cm tall including its shade, Magro suits a bedside table, a console, or a study desk in a contemporary or transitional room, ideally somewhere its angled legs and box shade can be seen from the side rather than pushed flush against a wall.
