A cage of light and glass

The Louvre 4 Light Pendant builds its shade from rows of clear glass louvres set at an angle inside a square steel frame, so the fitting reads more like a piece of architectural glasswork than a conventional shade. Four exposed lamp holders sit inside the cage, and with the glass angled to catch rather than diffuse the light, the whole fitting has a layered, almost mechanical presence whether it's lit or not.

Painted gunmetal

This version is finished in a painted gunmetal, a brushed grey with darker undertones that shifts between silver and charcoal depending on the light hitting it. It's understated enough to let the angled glass louvres do the visual work rather than compete with them, and it reads as equally at home against darker walls or a lighter kitchen scheme.

How It Works

Four E27 lamp holders sit back to back inside the steel cage, with LED bulbs not supplied. The chain length is set at installation, and with a drop that adjusts from around 49.6cm up to 202.4cm, the same fitting can sit close to the ceiling as a semi flush light or be lowered to hang as a full pendant, whichever suits the room. It's dimmable too, as long as dimmable bulbs are fitted.

Where It Works Best

Set with a longer drop it suits a high or vaulted dining room, hanging as a proper pendant with room to show off the chain, while shortened close to the ceiling it works just as well over a kitchen island or in a room with more modest ceiling height. The open sided cage throws light out in every direction rather than pooling it downward, so it's suited to spaces where you want presence as much as illumination, kitchens and dining tables particularly.

Does it come with bulbs? No. It takes four E27 LED lamps, which aren't included, so you can choose the light output and colour temperature that suits the room.
