Verdigris is the soft blue green patina copper takes on naturally over years outdoors, and Elstead have finished this half lantern to capture exactly that look from day one. Paired with the pierced fretwork top and glazed hinged front of the Lambeth Palace shape, it reads like a fitting that has already earned its place on the wall.

Finish

Expect mottled greens with darker shadowing rather than a flat, uniform colour, since that variation is what makes a verdigris finish convincing. Clear glass panels on the front and sides let the light out in every direction.

How it works

A single E27 bulb runs the show here, not included so you can choose your own, and dimmable bulbs will let you dim it if you want that option. The front glazed panel opens on its hinge whenever you need to get to the lamp holder.
