The Klampenborg swan neck lantern carries a built in PIR sensor, so it wakes as soon as you approach and settles back to sleep once you have gone inside. Finish and build

This one comes in a crisp white powder coat over a 304 stainless steel body, with a clear glass shade that lets the light spread generously across a porch or doorway. The swan neck arm gives it that classic dockside lantern silhouette, curving out from a round wall plate that houses the sensor itself.

How it works

Wire it in as you would any wall light, then let the sensor take over. It takes a single E27 bulb, which is not included, so you can fit an LED of the warmth and dimmability you prefer (dimmable bulbs will let you dim the fitting, though the motion sensor itself is not a dimmer switch). At 25.5cm high and reaching about 42cm out from the wall, it has enough presence to read clearly from the street without overwhelming a smaller entrance.
