Elstead Klampenborg Single Wall Lantern with PIR - Silver

The last thing you want to do on a cold, wet evening is fumble for a light switch with your arms full of shopping. This silver version of the Klampenborg solves that with a discreet motion sensor built into the wall plate, so the lantern above lights itself as you walk up.

The swan neck arm and wide flat cap are powder coated in a bright silver grey over 304 grade stainless steel, giving it a clean, slightly nautical look that pairs well with grey render, stone, or anywhere chrome and steel details already feature. The glass shade below is clear, showing off the bulb rather than diffusing it.

How it works

Look at the wall plate and you'll see a small sensor lens set into the lower half. It picks up movement within its range and switches the light on automatically, then off again once the area has been quiet for a while. Inside the shade sits a single E27 bulb, dimmable if you use a dimmable lamp, on a standard Class I connection.

Where it works best

Because it lights itself, this version suits spots you don't pass every day, side gates, garden doors, the walk round to a bin store, anywhere a light left permanently on would be wasteful but a light that's off when you need it is worse. The long arm still projects the lantern well clear of the wall, so the light falls properly on the path rather than just the brickwork.
