The Klampenborg Single Pedestal with PIR takes the familiar wide brimmed lantern from the Klampenborg range and adds a built in motion sensor just below the glass, so it lights itself the moment someone walks up to a gate, path or doorway rather than staying on all night or waiting for a switch to be found in the dark.

Black powder coated finish

The body is powder coated black over a 304 grade stainless steel frame, chosen for its resistance to rust and salt air outdoors. The wide, angled cap in the same black finish shields the clear glass panels beneath it, keeping the bulb visible from the front while directing light down toward the ground rather than out into eyes or windows.

How It Works

A passive infrared sensor sits in the lower half of the column, just above the mounting base, and reacts to movement nearby by switching the single E27 lamp on automatically. There's no separate switch to find and no bulb included in the box, so any E27 lamp of your choosing can be fitted once the fixture is wired in. The fitting sits on a round base plate fixed to a hard, level surface such as a driveway, patio or paved path.

Where It Works Best

Because it only lights up on approach, this pedestal suits spots where a light left burning all night would be wasted: at a side gate, along the edge of a path, or marking the start of a flight of steps where sudden light is more useful than constant light.
