Crisp lines that work after dark

Jannik is a compact, rectangular wall light built for the outside of the house, its sharp architectural edges standing in for anything more ornate. Two integrated LEDs sit behind a slim strip of clear lensing that splits the fitting in two, throwing light both up and down the wall in a soft double wash rather than a single beam.

Dark grey, die cast aluminium

The body is cast from die cast aluminium and finished in a flat, matte dark grey rather than a gloss black, so it reads as understated rather than showy against brick or render. That flat surface takes very little light itself, letting the two glowing strips above and below do the work instead.

How it works

Two integrated LEDs, rated at 3.8W each, sit behind the clear lens band that runs across the middle of the fitting, casting light upward and downward at the same time rather than in a single direction. The colour temperature is fixed at a warm 3000K and the LEDs aren't replaceable or dimmable, so there's nothing to source or swap out once it's installed. Being a Class I fitting, it needs a proper earth connection, so we'd always recommend a qualified electrician handles the install.

Where it works best

Its restrained, rectangular shape suits a modern facade better than a period one, working well spaced either side of a front door, along a run of garden wall, or repeated along a patio or driveway boundary where a continuous wash of light is more useful than isolated pools. With an IP44 rating, it's built to cope with direct exposure to rain and splashback, so it's equally at home on an exposed gable end as a sheltered porch.

Can I change the bulbs in the Jannik wall light? No. The LEDs are integrated into the fitting rather than fitted as separate lamps, so they can't be swapped out. LEDs of this kind are built to last for many years of normal use.

Is the Jannik wall light suitable for outdoor use? Yes. It's rated IP44 and built from die cast aluminium, so it's designed to be fixed outside and to cope with rain and splashback.

Is the Jannik wall light dimmable? No. The integrated LED driver is fixed output, so it won't dim even when wired to a dimmer switch.
