The Hornsea bollard pairs a solid teak column with a brushed 316 stainless steel head, so instead of the usual moulded plastic post you get real timber grain running the full length, capped with a fluted metal collar that throws soft vertical stripes of light down the path.

Built for the outdoors, properly

316 stainless steel is the marine grade, the same specification used on boat fittings, so the metal parts are chosen to cope with weather rather than just tolerate it. The teak shaft will silver slightly and develop its own character outdoors over time, in the way teak garden furniture does, while the stainless head and base plate keep their brushed finish.

How it works

A single E27 LED lamp sits behind the fluted polycarbonate lens, giving a soft, even glow rather than a harsh point of light. It runs on mains electricity, wired in on Class I, and the fixed base plate bolts down to decking, paving or a concrete footing.

Where it works best

At 70cm tall and 12cm across, it's the right scale for lining a driveway, marking the edge of a path, or standing at intervals along a terrace where you want low level guidance lighting rather than glare. Because the light source sits well below eye level, it lights the ground in front of you without dazzling anyone walking towards it. With an IP55 rating, it's built to stay outside in all weather.

Does the Hornsea bollard come with a bulb? No. It takes one E27 lamp rated up to 18W LED, which isn't included, so you can choose the colour temperature and brightness you want.
