The Holborn takes its cue from Victorian coach lanterns, the kind that hung outside townhouses once gas gave way to electric light. This medium half lantern keeps that boxy, glazed silhouette, with a fluted vent panel along the top and a pair of ball feet underneath.

Verdigris finish

Cast in solid brass, this one wears a verdigris finish, the blue green patina that brass takes on naturally outdoors over years, applied here so the look is there from day one. Expect real variation across the surface, with deeper bronze tones showing through the green rather than one flat colour.

How it works

Two E14 candle bulbs sit inside the glazed box on upright holders, visible through the clear glass panels on the front and sides. It's wired to Class I and will work with a dimmer switch if you fit dimmable bulbs. This is an exterior wall light, so we always recommend a qualified electrician installs it.

Where it works best

Rated IP44, so it copes with a porch, over a front door, or flanking a garage, anywhere with some shelter from direct driving rain. Its scale suits either side of a doorway or a run of lanterns along a garden wall or outbuilding.
