This is the shorter pedestal version of the Helsingor lantern, standing at just over 30cm rather than a full metre. The same stepped black canopy and seeded glass cylinder sit above a stubby post and a round fixing plate, making it a good fit for pillars, low garden walls or the edge of a terrace where a taller light would overwhelm the space.

Black powder coated stainless steel

The lantern is made from 304 grade stainless steel and finished in a durable black powder coat, so the surface stays matte and even rather than glossy. That combination is built to shrug off rain and salt air, which is part of why it holds up so well on exposed or coastal plots. The cylinder itself is seeded glass, giving the light a slightly textured, handmade look rather than a flat, clear pane.

How It Works

It runs on a single E27 lamp holder, with the bulb not included, and will dim if you choose a dimmable one. The fitting is Class I rated for electrical safety, meaning it relies on an earth connection rather than double insulation, so it should be wired in by a qualified electrician along with the rest of your outdoor lighting circuit.

Where It Works Best

Set it along the top of a low wall, either side of a gate post, or dotted along a garden path where a full height pedestal would look out of scale. The same Helsingor design is also available as a taller bollard and as a wall mounted lantern with a built in motion sensor, so you can mix formats across a single property and keep the look consistent from the front door to the boundary wall.
