Glenbeigh is a single post lantern built for distance rather than close up detail, a plain white globe held at head height on a slim black column so it reads clearly from the far end of a driveway or path. At just over 1.8 metres tall, it's designed to be seen rather than to light a small patch of ground beneath it.

The column and the cage around the globe are moulded from black polymer rather than painted metal, so there's no coating to chip or corrode where the post gets knocked by a car door or a wheelie bin. The globe itself is an opal polycarbonate diffuser, which softens the bulb inside to an even, glare free glow rather than a single bright point.

How It Works

A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the globe, and Glenbeigh will dim if you fit a dimmable LED bulb, though the bulb itself isn't included. The fitting is wired to Class II double insulated standards, so it doesn't rely on an earth connection. The base is hexagonal and sits flat on a hard standing, or can be set into paving or concrete, so it goes in without any special bracket or plinth.

Where It Works Best

Glenbeigh is at its best used in a pair or a short run rather than alone, either side of a gate or entrance, or spaced out along a front path so the light carries from the road after dark. It also works as a single marker post at the end of a drive, or beside a garage or outbuilding where you want a clear, low level point of reference rather than a floodlit area.
