Elstead Frida Single Small Wall Light - Graphite

The smaller Frida wall light wraps a broad graphite band around a clear polycarbonate cylinder, so the bulb sits half hidden behind it while a soft glow still escapes above and below. It reads as much like a small piece of graphic sculpture as a conventional outdoor light.

Graphite and clear polycarbonate

The body, backplate and band are die cast aluminium finished in graphite, a flat, dark charcoal grey rather than a shiny black. The lens is clear polycarbonate rather than glass, tougher for outdoor use, and it wraps around the bulb with no shade of its own, so the graphite band is doing the work of shielding the direct glare.

How It Works

It takes a single E27 LED lamp, not supplied, which sits inside the polycarbonate cylinder behind the graphite band. Because the band only covers the middle section, light spills out above and below it rather than shining straight ahead. Fit a dimmable LED bulb and it can be run low for an evening on the patio or brighter by a doorway. It's wired to Class I electrical rating, so it needs to be properly earthed as part of installation.

Where It Works Best

At a compact 16cm wide and high, it suits close spacing either side of a front door, a run of matching fittings along a garden wall, or marking a step or side passage where a low, directional glow is more useful than a floodlight. Rated IP54, it's built to run outdoors through wind and rain.

Does the Frida Single Small Wall Light come with a bulb? No. It takes one E27 LED lamp, which isn't included, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suits the space.

Is it dimmable? Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable E27 LED bulb. A standard non dimmable bulb will only run at full brightness.

Is it suitable for outdoor use? Yes. It's rated IP54, so it's built to handle wind and rain, and it works well by a front door, porch or side passage.
