Hung low over a table, the Franklin pendant borrows its shape from cafe and factory lighting of decades past, a wide dome shade in glossy cream dropping from a long black cord. There's nothing fussy about it. Just one confident curve and a warm, chalky white that softens the industrial edge.

The shade is finished in a warm, creamy gloss with a row of vents cut into the collar where it meets the fitting, and a small chrome sleeve marking the join to the flex. The ceiling rose is finished in the same cream, so the whole run from ceiling to shade reads as one continuous piece rather than mismatched parts.

How It Works

A single E27 bulb sits inside the dome, throwing light back out from the pale interior of the shade rather than down in a hard beam. The bulb isn't included, so you can choose an LED in whatever warmth suits the room. Fit a dimmable bulb and the Franklin will dim smoothly on a compatible switch, useful if the pendant is doing double duty over a kitchen island for cooking and for a quieter evening glow.

Where It Works Best

The cord adjusts from 29.9cm at its shortest to 234.9cm at its longest, so the shade can drop low over a dining table or kitchen island, or sit higher where there's less headroom to play with. At 30cm across, it works well as a single pendant over a small table, or grouped in twos or threes along a run of kitchen units.
