Two curved arms swing out from a central post, each ending in a wide, flared opal glass shade, with a twisted ribbon of metal winding its way down between them. It's a fitting with a bit of movement to it, rather than a plain fixed bracket on the wall.

The metalwork carries a warm, aged copper patina, uneven in tone in a way that suits the twisted ribbon detail running down the centre post and around the base of each shade. The glass itself is opal white and flares outward like a small trumpet, softening the light rather than pointing it in one direction.

How It Works

Each arm takes a single E14 bulb, so the fitting throws two points of light rather than one, spreading a room's lighting more evenly than a single fixture would. Elstead recommends an LED bulb here; fit a dimmable one and the light responds to a dimmer switch, giving you the choice between a bright wash and a low background glow. The curved arms hold both shades at a slight outward angle, so the light reaches further into the room than a straight up and down design would. This fitting is wired directly into the wall, so we always recommend a qualified electrician handles the install.

Where It Works Best

At 29.5cm tall, 36.5cm wide and projecting 16.5cm from the wall, Emily works well as a pair flanking a bed, taking the place of table lamps and freeing up the nightstands. A single fitting on a dining room wall gives a softer, ambient glow than a pendant hanging directly over the table, especially useful alongside a dimmer for changing the mood through a meal.

How many bulbs does the Emily 2 Light Wall Light take? Two E14 bulbs, one in each arm. They're not included, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature yourself, and an LED bulb is recommended.

Is the Emily wall light dimmable? Yes, as long as dimmable E14 bulbs are fitted in both arms. A non dimmable bulb won't dim, even on a dimmer switch circuit.

Do I need an electrician to install this wall light? Yes. It's wired directly into the wall rather than plugged in, so we always recommend a qualified electrician fits it.
