An apothecary jar for the wall

The Eliot takes its cue from an old apothecary jar, an opal glass cylinder pinched between two ribbed metal collars and held out from the wall on a short chrome arm. It keeps a low profile against the wall while still throwing a proper, even wash of light rather than one hot spot from a bare bulb.

Polished chrome

The metalwork is bright polished chrome throughout, from the circular wall plate to the stepped rings that pinch the glass shade at top and bottom. Those ribbed collars are the fitting's one bit of flourish, catching the light and giving an otherwise plain cylinder some texture up close.

How It Works

A single G9 bulb sits inside the opal glass, which softens the light into a gentle glow rather than a direct beam, useful right beside a mirror where a bare bulb would be too harsh. The bulb isn't included, so you'll need to fit your own before switching on. The arm holds the shade firmly upright with no adjustment needed, and there's no separate switch on the fitting itself.

Where It Works Best

Because it's slim rather than wide, the Eliot suits a pair either side of a mirror as well as it does a single fitting above a basin. At 28cm tall and just 9cm across, it copes well with narrow walls and tighter bathroom layouts where a bigger fitting wouldn't fit. Elstead Lighting

Elstead is a British decorative lighting group with roots tracing back to the Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and is still led by the Lucas family today. The Eliot's simple, ribbed cylinder shape draws on that traditional bathroom lighting look, updated with a modern LED friendly fitting.

Does the Eliot come with a bulb? No. It takes one 3W LED G9 bulb, which isn't supplied, so you'll need to buy one separately before fitting it.

Is the Eliot wall light dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable G9 bulb. A non dimmable bulb won't dim even on a dimmer switch circuit.
