The Dryden Single Bathroom Wall Light narrows from a wide, flared glass shade down to a slender polished chrome column, giving it more presence on the wall than the plainer globe and cylinder shades found elsewhere in the Dryden range.

The stem, backplate and pointed finial are all finished in polished chrome, buffed to a proper mirror shine rather than a soft brushed look. Above it sits a clear glass shade with vertical fluting and a scalloped rim, held on a narrow neck just below the bulb.

How it works

A single G9 LED bulb sits inside the shade, and the clear fluted glass lets most of that light pass straight through rather than diffusing it the way an opal shade would. The ribs moulded into the glass do the softening instead, breaking the beam into gentle vertical streaks that spread outward and down rather than firing straight ahead.

Where it works best

Fitted in a pair either side of a mirror, Dryden gives even, shadow free light for shaving or applying make up. As a single fitting it works just as well above a basin or in a smaller cloakroom where a pendant would feel cramped. It's rated IP44, so it's suitable for bathroom use.
