A bulb that hangs below the light, not from it
Douille turns the usual wall light on its head. Rather than the bulb sitting fixed to the arm, it hangs on a twisted flex below an aged brass bracket, so you can settle it exactly where the wall needs it rather than where the fitting dictates.
Aged brass and ribbed glass
The backplate, curved arm and lamp holder are all finished in aged brass with a soft, lightly weathered tone, while the ribbed glass shade below is left completely clear so the character of an exposed filament bulb comes through rather than being diffused away.
How It Works
Loosen the fitting at the lamp holder and the twisted flex pays out, letting the ribbed shade travel from just beneath the arm down to well over a metre below the wall plate. It takes a single E27 bulb, sold separately, so you can choose anything from a vintage style filament bulb to a plain LED depending on the look you're after.
Where It Works Best
The adjustable drop makes it a natural fit for kitchens and dining rooms, whether flanking a mirror, framing a doorway or hung in a pair either side of a table. It works just as well as a bedside light, set low enough to read by, or spaced along a hallway wall.
An Elstead Design
Elstead is a British lighting group with roots at The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and is still led today by the Lucas family. Their collections favour classic and heritage inspired shapes, and Douille's swan neck arm paired with a drop down flex is a good example of that traditional silhouette reworked for a more adjustable, modern room.

How far can the shade drop down on the Douille wall light? The flex is supplied at 1m long, giving an adjustable drop from around 32cm below the wall plate up to a maximum of about 122cm, so you can set the bulb at whatever height suits the space.
Does the Douille wall light come with a bulb? No, it takes a single E27 bulb which isn't included, so you can choose a filament style bulb like the one shown or any other E27 fitting bulb you prefer.
Is the Douille wall light dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable E27 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. A bulb that isn't dimmable won't dim even on a dimmer switch circuit.
What other finishes is the Douille wall light available in? This aged brass version is also made in polished nickel and in a black and polished brass finish, along with a matching table lamp if you'd like to carry the look to a nearby surface.
