The Douille table lamp takes its cue from old factory lighting, with a curved arm lifting the ribbed glass shade at an angle rather than pointing it straight down. The lamp holder sits out in the open rather than hidden inside a fitting, so the vintage style filament bulb becomes part of the look rather than something to cover up.
Polished nickel throughout
Stem, arm and the weighted round base all share the same polished nickel finish, and the fluted glass shade arrives already fitted to the arm, so there is nothing extra to attach before it is plugged in.
How it works
A single lamp holder sits at the end of the arm with no pull cord or dimmer built into the base. If you want to dim the light in the evening, choose a dimmable bulb and run it through a compatible dimmer switch.
Where it works best
The narrow base and angled shade make it a natural fit for a bedside table, where light aimed to one side is often more welcome than an even glow, though it sits just as well on a console table, a desk or a hall table.
