Elstead Douille Single Table Lamp - Polished Nickel

The Douille table lamp borrows its shape from old factory lighting, with a curved arm lifting an exposed lamp holder out to one side rather than hiding it inside a shade that points straight down. The lamp holder sits in full view at the end of the arm, so the vintage style filament bulb becomes part of the look rather than something to cover up, and a fluted glass shade wraps around it to soften the light without hiding the fitting underneath.

Polished nickel throughout

The stem, arm and weighted round base all share the same polished nickel finish, giving it a bright, mirror like shine rather than the warmer tone of brass. The ribbed glass shade arrives already fitted to the arm, so there is nothing extra to attach before it is plugged in and switched on.

How It Works

A single E27 lamp holder sits at the end of the curved arm, and the join just above it is a knuckle style fitting, so the shade can be angled slightly rather than staying fixed in one position. There is no pull cord or built in dimmer on the base. If you want to dim the light in the evening, choose a dimmable LED bulb and run it through a compatible dimmer switch.

Where It Works Best

The narrow round base and side angled shade make this a natural fit for a bedside table, where light aimed to one side is often more welcome than an even glow spilling across the whole room. It works just as well on a console table, a desk or a hall table, wherever a single reading light is more useful than an overhead fitting.

Does the Douille table lamp come with a bulb? No. It takes a single E27 bulb, and we'd recommend an LED filament style bulb to match the exposed, vintage look of the fitting.

Is the Douille table lamp dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable bulb and plug it into a compatible dimmer switch. There is no dimmer built into the lamp itself.

Can the shade be angled once it's set up? Yes. The arm ends in a knuckle style joint just above the lamp holder, so you can tilt the shade slightly to aim the light where you want it.
