The Douille pairs a black ceiling rose and flex with a polished brass lamp holder, keeping the two finishes distinct rather than blending them into one metal tone. It has a small, graphic presence built around an exposed lamp holder, in the industrial style that runs through Elstead's wider Douille range.

Black and Polished Brass, Kept Apart

Rather than matching everything to one metal, this version sets a black finished ceiling rose and twisted flex against a bright polished brass lamp holder underneath, so the two finishes sit side by side instead of merging into one tone. The lamp holder itself is cast rather than pressed, giving it a ribbed, slightly industrial profile, and it carries a ribbed glass shade that wraps around just the top of the bulb rather than covering it fully. It suits a kitchen or dining space that already mixes black and brass hardware, rather than one built around a single finish.

How It Works

The Douille takes a single E27 LED bulb, which isn't included, and is wired as a Class I fitting. Fit a dimmable bulb and it will respond to a dimmer switch, giving you more control over the light than a fixed brightness pendant. It's supplied with 2m of black twisted cord, which gets trimmed to length on installation, so you're not locked into one drop straight out of the box.

Where It Works Best

It works well over a kitchen island or breakfast bar, where a run of two or three would look deliberate rather than repetitive, or on its own above a dining table where the fitting itself is allowed to be noticed rather than fade into the background. Its small footprint also makes it easy to place close to a worktop or table without dominating the space above it.

Is the Douille pendant dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable E27 bulb. A non dimmable bulb won't dim even on a dimmer switch circuit.

Does the Douille pendant come with a bulb? No. It takes one E27 LED lamp, which isn't included, so you can choose a bulb with the warmth or shape you want showing through the ribbed glass shade.
