A coach lantern cut flat for tight corners

Deco Lane keeps the four sided, dome topped silhouette of a traditional coach lantern but slices it flat down the back, so it sits directly against the wall rather than standing proud on a bracket arm. The shape reads as a classic carriage light without the fixture pushing out into a narrow porch or gateway.

Matte black finish

The cast aluminium body is finished in a flat matte black, with a small domed cap and finial keeping the top properly lantern shaped rather than boxy. Four clear polycarbonate panels leave the bulb fully on show, so nothing softens or tints the light on its way out. The same design is also made in bronze, cream and green, so there's a finish to sit against most brick, render or joinery colours.

How It Works

Deco Lane takes a single E27 lamp, seen plainly through the clear panels rather than diffused behind glass, so it reads as a direct glow rather than a softened one. It will dim if fitted with a dimmable bulb. The fitting arrives needing some simple assembly, which is how it travels safely protected.

Where It Works Best

Because it doesn't project far off the wall, Deco Lane suits narrow porches, gateposts and passageways where a standard coach lantern would be too deep, and it looks right fitted in a pair either side of a front door on a period or traditional house front. It carries an IP44 rating, so it's built to cope with rain and damp in a covered or partly sheltered outdoor spot.

Does the Deco Lane lantern stick out far from the wall? No. It's a half lantern with a flat back, so it projects only about 11cm off the wall while still measuring 19.3cm across the front face, which is why it fits narrow porches and gateposts where a full lantern wouldn't clear the space.

Does it come with a bulb? No. It takes a single E27 lamp holder and the bulb isn't supplied, so choose a dimmable E27 bulb if you want to use it with a dimmer switch.
