The Copenhagen Single Chain Lantern has the unmistakable look of an old quayside signal light, with a flared cap, a ring cage, and a rounded glass globe hanging beneath it. Suspended on its own length of chain rather than sitting flush against the ceiling, it swings gently into its own space rather than reading as just another fixed fitting.

Black finish

The body is 304 grade stainless steel, powder coated in Black, which gives it a tougher, more weather ready surface than an ordinary painted metal light. The glass globe at the bottom is completely clear, so the bulb sits in full view and the light spreads out in every direction rather than being aimed at the ground.

How it works

One bulb sits inside the globe, wired down through the chain from a round ceiling rose, which means you can set the chain to whatever length suits the height of your porch or entrance.

Where it works best

Hang it over a front door, a covered entrance, or an outdoor seating area, and consider a pair either side of a wider porch opening for symmetry. Its harbour lantern look leans toward coastal and Scandinavian style homes, though the plain Black finish is versatile enough to work almost anywhere outdoors.
