The Cleveland Single Small Pedestal Lantern sits on a short, fluted base rather than a tall post, so it suits a low wall, a gate pier or a pillar top far better than open ground. The lantern head carries the same curved glass and finial detailing as the rest of the Cleveland range, just set closer to the ground than its taller siblings.

Weathered bronze and seeded glass

It is cast in aluminium and finished in weathered bronze, with the aged, mottled tone built into the metal itself rather than sprayed over the top, so the colour won't wear through to a different shade underneath. The glass is clear seeded glass, bubbled and slightly uneven, which scatters the light rather than showing a single bright point through a flat pane.

How It Works

A single E27 lamp sits inside the lantern head, sending light out through the seeded glass in every direction rather than down a narrow beam. Fit a dimmable E27 bulb and it will respond to a compatible dimmer switch. Because the lantern sits low on its pedestal, it lights the ground immediately around it well, working more as a marker light at a gate or wall than something meant to carry across a long driveway. The bulb is not included.

Where It Works Best

It suits gate piers, the top of a low garden wall, either side of a shallow entrance, or anywhere a full height lamp post would look out of scale. It fixes down through a square base plate, so it needs a solid pillar or wall top to sit on rather than open soil, and pairs naturally with the taller Cleveland lamp post and wall lanterns if you want a matching finish across piers, walls and the house itself.
