The Cleveland Single Medium Down Wall Lantern hangs beneath a scrolled bracket rather than sitting flat against the wall, giving it the look of an old coach lamp outside a townhouse or country inn. The curl of the arm down to the finial beneath the lantern gives it a slight sway that a flush fitting simply cannot match.

Weathered bronze and seeded glass

Every part, wall plate, bracket and lantern, is cast in aluminium and finished in weathered bronze, a warm aged tone with visible variation rather than a flat black paint. The glass is clear and seeded, with a gentle, uneven texture that catches light rather than passing it straight through, and a ribbed glazing bar runs down each corner of the lantern.

How It Works

One E27 lamp sits inside the lantern, sending light down through the seeded glass and out to the sides, so it lights the wall behind it and the ground below rather than glaring outward. Hanging the lantern below the arm rather than mounting it flush lets the light spread a little further around the fitting. Fit a dimmable E27 bulb and it will respond to a dimmer switch.

Where It Works Best

It is a natural choice either side of a front door, framing a garage, or spaced along a boundary wall, anywhere a hanging lantern suits the setting better than a flush wall light. Rated IP44, it holds its own outdoors against brick, stone and painted render, in direct rain or spray.
