A street lamp for your own driveway

The Cleveland Single Head Lamp Post takes its cues from old fashioned street lighting: a slender fluted column rising to a hexagonal lantern head with a finial on top, standing on a solid stepped base that looks like it has always been there. It is built as a single freestanding fitting rather than something you would site next to a matching wall light, so it can mark a driveway or path entirely on its own.

Cast in aluminium and finished in weathered bronze, the post carries a soft, uneven patina worked into the metal itself rather than a flat paint colour. The lantern head is glazed on all sides with clear seeded glass, full of the tiny trapped bubbles that scatter light instead of showing it as one hard point.

How it works

A single lamp sits behind the seeded glass panels, throwing light out in every direction and down around the base of the post. Because the light spreads rather than beams, one post is usually enough to cover a good stretch of path or driveway entrance.

Where it works best

Best suited to driveways, front paths, either side of a gate, or spaced along a boundary where a run of matching posts does the lighting rather than a single fitting by the door. Weathered bronze reads well against brick, render, gravel and planting alike.
