A short pedestal light for a path or gate

This is the low riser of the Chicago family, a compact lantern set on a fluted plinth with a squared foot plate, built for marking the edge of a path or standing either side of a gate rather than lighting a whole driveway. The pointed finial on top mirrors the taller lamp posts in the same range at a fraction of the height.

Textured black, seeded glass

Cast aluminium finished in textured black, with clear seeded glass panes that carry the tiny bubbles and imperfections of old fashioned glazing. The plinth flares out at the base to keep the fitting steady once it is fixed down.

How it works

A single E27 bulb sits inside the lantern head, visible through glass on every side. It is Class I wired, needing an earthed supply, and will dim if fitted with a dimmable lamp.

Where it works best

Its low profile suits pathway edges, low garden walls, or either side of a gate, where a full height lamp post would be too tall and a wall light has nothing to fix to. Pairs of these placed along a driveway edge mark the route without competing with taller planting.
