The Chawton picture light in polished nickel gives a large canvas, print or mirror a proper wash of light without a single visible bulb. Four independent arms sit on a slim wall plate, ready to angle exactly where the artwork needs it.
Mirror bright polished nickel
The bar, arms and wall plate all carry the same mirror bright nickel plating, a cool silvery tone that reads more contemporary than a brass equivalent and stays clean and bright rather than warming with age. It sits naturally against white, grey or pale walls, and pairs well with chrome or nickel door furniture and mirror frames elsewhere in the room.
How It Works
Each of the four lamp holders is mounted on its own knuckle joint, so once the fitting is fixed to the wall the bar and every arm can still be angled forward, back or straight down onto the picture below. The wall plate carries two fixing points at 13cm centres, and the whole bar spans 65.3cm, enough to spread light evenly across a wide frame rather than pooling it in the middle. It takes four E14 lamp holders; bulbs are not included, so you can choose the beam and colour temperature to suit the artwork.
Where It Works Best
A good fit above a large framed print, canvas or mirror in a hallway, living room, dining room or study, particularly where nickel or chrome fittings are already in play. Because the arms adjust independently, it also copes well with an oversized or awkwardly proportioned frame that a fixed picture light would struggle to cover evenly.
