Light that follows the art, not the wall
Hung above a large canvas or a run of framed prints, the Chawton picture light throws its glow down and across the piece rather than out into the room, so the artwork stays the focus rather than the fitting. This is the large size of the range, a 65.3cm bar built for wide canvases and multi frame arrangements, held forward on two adjustable arms from a slim wall plate.
An aged brass finish
This version comes in aged brass, a soft, slightly muted gold tone rather than a bright polish, with a faceted, bevelled edge running the length of the bar that catches the light differently depending on the angle you view it from. It has the settled in look of something that's been in place a while, rather than a fitting fresh out of the box.
How It Works
Two knuckle joints, one on each arm, let you tilt the bar forward, back or flat against the wall, so the angle can be set once the light is up rather than fixed at a single point during installation. It takes four E14 LED bulbs, which aren't included, and is dimmable when fitted with dimmable bulbs.

Well suited to a large canvas, a big mirror or a run of smaller frames in a hallway, living room, dining room or office, wherever a wide picture needs even light along its whole width rather than a single spotlight.

Elstead is a British lighting group and distributor whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and the business is still led by the same Lucas family today. Can I angle the light once it's fitted? Yes. Both arms have a knuckle joint, so the bar can be tilted forward, back or flat against the wall after installation, letting you aim the light exactly where you want it.
Are bulbs included? No. The Chawton large takes four E14 LED bulbs, which need to be bought separately.
Is this picture light dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable E14 LED bulbs. Non dimmable bulbs won't dim even on a dimmer switch circuit.
Will it fit above a large canvas or a run of smaller frames? Yes. At 65.3cm wide, this large size is designed to throw even light across a wide canvas or a row of smaller frames, rather than a single spotlight.
