A proper lamp post for the drive

The Chapel Single Lamp Post takes the same coach lantern used across the Chapel range and raises it onto a full height column, so it reads as a genuine freestanding post rather than a light fixed to a pole. The peaked roof and single finial that cap the lantern are the same as on the smaller Chapel fittings, just set well above head height on a fluted column and a solid, fluted pedestal base.

Every part of this fitting, the pedestal base, the column and the lantern head itself, is finished in the same matte black, with clear glass panels around the lamp chamber so the whole post reads as one continuous piece rather than a stack of separate parts. Up close, the fluting on the base and column catches the light without ever looking glossy.

How It Works

The lantern head takes a single E27 LED lamp, left open so you can choose whichever E27 LED suits the spot, and it will dim if the lamp itself is dimmable. Because this is a hardwired outdoor fitting run from mains power, we always recommend a qualified electrician handles the installation and any groundworks needed to get the cable out to where the post will stand.

Where It Works Best

Built to stand in open ground rather than fix to a wall, it suits long driveways, garden paths and the approach to a front door, anywhere you would rather have the light standing in the border than mounted on the house itself. The lantern head matches the wall and pillar versions in the Chapel range, so a pair of these posts either side of a driveway can be echoed by a matching wall lantern at the door for a set that reads as one design.
