A Lantern Built to Stand Proud of the Wall

The Baltimore Single Large Wall Lantern doesn't sit flat against the brick. It swings forward on an S shaped bracket topped with a leaf scroll, so the glazed lantern head projects out and slightly to the side of the wall face. The result reads like a genuine period exterior fitting rather than a flattened modern copy of one.

Weathered Bronze Finish

Weathered Bronze suits the design well. Copper and bronze tones catch along the curls of the bracket and the acanthus trim at the base of the lantern, set against an otherwise near black body. The glass panels are amber tinted and rippled, so the bulb inside reads as a warm, slightly broken glow rather than a flat white light.

How It Works

One E27 lamp holder sits behind the glass, ready for an LED lamp (not supplied). This is a Class I fitting wired for a permanent connection through the wall plate rather than a plug, so we always recommend a qualified electrician installs it. Fit a dimmable bulb and it will respond to a dimmer switch.

Where It Works Best

At 69cm tall and around 30cm wide across the lantern head, with the scrolled bracket carrying the overall width out to roughly 35cm, the Baltimore needs clear wall space either side to be seen properly. It suits a front door, a garage entrance or a gatepost wall where the bracket has room to project outward rather than being crowded by a porch roof or a neighbouring fitting. It's IP44 rated, built to cope with rain and damp on an exterior wall.

Does the Baltimore wall lantern come with a bulb? No. It takes one E27 lamp holder and the bulb isn't supplied, so choose an LED lamp rated for outdoor use.

Is the Baltimore wall lantern suitable for outside a front door? Yes. It's IP44 rated for exterior use and its scrolled bracket is designed to project forward from the wall, so it works well either side of a front door, a garage entrance or a gatepost wall.
