A quiet shade with a warm surprise underneath
From the side, the Balance pendant reads as a simple mocha brown drum on a slim brass stem, nothing more. Switch it on and the trick reveals itself: the inside of the shade is lined in gold, so the light spilling out below is warm and amber rather than the flat white of an open bulb.

The drum shade stays a matte mocha brown all the way round, with a fine brass rim at its base where the gold lining catches the light. That same brown runs down the suspension rod, broken only by small polished brass collars at the ceiling rose and where the rod meets the shade, so the brass reads as a considered detail rather than the main event.
How It Works
A single E27 LED lamp sits inside the lamp holder (not supplied), and the fitting is dimmable if you choose dimmable bulbs. The drop rod adjusts from 33.4cm to 123.4cm, giving room to hang it low over furniture or keep it closer to the ceiling in a tighter space. The frame is mild steel, wired to Class I.
Where It Works Best
Centred above a dining table, the Balance pools light where people are sitting while the gold rim glows gently overhead. It works just as well lowered over a console table, hung to one side of a bed in place of table lamps, or used on its own to light a hallway, landing or the turn of a staircase.

Questions People Ask
Why does the light look golden when the shade itself is brown? The underside of the shade is lined in gold, so the light reflects off that gold surface rather than shining straight out from an open bulb, giving a warm amber glow rather than flat white light.
Is a bulb included with the Balance pendant? No. It takes one E27 lamp fitted into the lamp holder, so you can choose the colour temperature and dimmable option that suits your room.
Can I hang the Balance pendant low over a dining table? Yes. The drop rod adjusts from 33.4cm up to 123.4cm, so it can be hung low over a table or set closer to the ceiling depending on the height of the room.
Is the Balance pendant dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable E27 bulb. A non dimmable bulb will not dim even when wired to a dimmer switch.
