A softer take on the drum pendant
The Balance pendant pairs a wide white fabric drum shade with a slim black rod and polished nickel joints, landing somewhere between a classic drum light and something a bit more architectural. The metal accents catch the eye without ever feeling fussy.
Black and Polished Nickel
Black and polished nickel is a cooler, more contemporary pairing than the brass and chrome combinations found elsewhere in our lighting range, and it tends to suit newer builds or recently renovated rooms best. The shade itself is polycotton, and its bright white lining bounces light back down into the room rather than absorbing it.
How It Works
Balance takes a single E27 LED bulb, which isn't included. Because the drum shade is open at both the top and bottom, light spreads upward toward the ceiling as well as down into the room, giving a fuller glow than a shade that's closed on one side. Fit a dimmable bulb and the light will respond to a dimmer switch.
Where It Works Best
The rod is adjustable from a shallow 33.4cm drop up to a generous 123.4cm, so Balance works as happily over a dining table with a low ceiling as it does dropped down a stairwell or double height hallway. At 45.5cm across, the shade has enough presence to anchor a living room or bedroom too.
