An Architectural Take on the Table Lamp
The Atlas reads more like a small structure than a conventional lamp base. An open rectangular frame stands on a slab of white marble, with a deep black shade sitting squarely on top, its gold trim echoing the brushed brass frame below.
Brushed Brass Frame, Marble Base
The frame is steel finished in brushed brass, built as an open cage you can see straight through rather than a solid column. It stands on a white marble plinth set onto a black base, raised on small brass feet at each corner. The shade is black and rectangular, tapered from a wider base to a narrower top, trimmed in gold along every edge with a matching gold lining inside.
How It Works
A single E27 lamp holder runs up through the centre of the frame, wired to Class I standards. The bulb isn't included, so you can choose your own LED for warmth and brightness, and a dimmable bulb lets you soften the light for evenings rather than leaving it at one setting.
Where It Works Best
At 72cm tall with a 45cm wide shade, the Atlas needs real surface space, a console table, sideboard or generous bedside table rather than a small side table, so its open frame and marble base have room to be seen properly.
Its geometric lines make it a strong fit for a living room, bedroom, dining room or hallway with a more contemporary or art deco scheme, standing apart from the softer country house lanterns Elstead is generally known for.
