Standing close to head height, the Ascent floor lamp turns a simple tapered column into the main event of a room. Its faceted sides catch the light differently depending on where you're standing, so a plain corner becomes something worth looking at even before it's switched on.

The column is mild steel, finished in a deep matte black and shaped with clean bevelled facets, tapering from a slim top to a wider footprint at the base. Above it sits a dark grey faux silk drum shade with a softly textured, almost woven finish, and a small polished nickel finial, the only metal accent on the whole piece, at the very top.

How It Works

It takes a single E27 LED bulb, which isn't included, wired to Class I standards. Fit a dimmable bulb and the lamp will dim to match, so the light can be dropped down for evenings without swapping fittings or adding a separate dimmer switch.

At around 180cm tall, the Ascent reads best beside a sofa or armchair, somewhere with a little breathing room to appreciate the height, though it works just as well as a reading light in a bedroom corner or angled into a dining room to soften a hard overhead light.
