A chandelier with real character
Artisan brings a hand worked, blacksmith feel into a room. Slim scrolled arms curl away from a central cage of curved strips, gathered beneath a twisted knot finial and hung from a simple ceiling rose. It reads as traditional without tipping into fussy, equally at home in a period hallway or a newer build looking for something with a bit more forge in it.
Black finish
This version is finished in a flat, deep black that keeps the scrollwork and the twisted knot crisp and easy to read against a ceiling or wall, rather than letting the detail get lost in shine. The matte surface also reads as a touch more contemporary than a polished bronze or antique brass version of the same design would.
How It Works
Five arms carry candle style lamp holders around the central cage, each finished with a small drip pan beneath the bulb. The fitting hangs from a chain that can be shortened on installation to suit your ceiling height, and it is also set up to be flush converted, so it can be adapted from a hanging chain fitting to sit closer to the ceiling if a lower profile suits the room better.
Where It Works Best
Artisan is a good scale for a dining table, a stairwell or a living room where you want a central light with some presence but not full ballroom proportions. The five arm spread also suits a kitchen table in an older or character property, where a bare pendant would look too plain against exposed beams or a period ceiling.
Elstead Lighting
Artisan comes from Elstead Lighting, a British lighting group whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and which remains led by the Lucas family today. This kind of hand formed scroll and twist work, arms curled individually rather than pressed from a single mould, is where the company is most at home.

How many bulbs does the Artisan chandelier take, and are they included? It takes five E14 candle bulbs, which are not included, so you'll need to fit your own before use.
Can the chain be shortened? Yes. The chain can be shortened on installation, and the drop is adjustable between 50cm and 94cm to suit your ceiling height.
Can this chandelier be fitted close to the ceiling? Yes. Artisan can be flush converted, so if a hanging chain does not suit the room, it can be adapted to sit closer to the ceiling.
Is the Artisan chandelier dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable bulbs. Non dimmable bulbs will not dim even on a dimmer switch circuit.
