Where the base becomes the feature
The Apollo table lamp puts its structure on full display. Straight strips of brushed brass cross and recross each other up from a hexagonal marble plinth, doing the job of a plain lamp base but reading more like a small sculpture. A classic white drum shade sits on top, so the drama stays at floor level and the light stays soft and even.
Brushed brass and white marble
The crossed frame has a brushed rather than polished finish, so it takes the light without throwing off a hard glare, and the plinth beneath it is genuine white marble rather than a painted lookalike. On top sits a white faux silk shade with a white laminate lining, keeping the whole piece bright rather than moody.
How It Works
A single E27 LED lamp sits inside the shade, on a rod that runs straight up through the centre of the crossed frame and the marble plinth (bulb not included). Fit a dimmable LED and the lamp will respond to a dimmer switch, so it can run low for atmosphere or bright enough to read by.
Where It Works Best
The base is really the point of interest here, so it works best somewhere it can be seen properly: a console table, a study desk, or the centre of a sideboard. It also suits a large bedside table or a hallway console, anywhere with enough space around it that the crossed frame is not crowded out by other objects.
