Light without the fixture getting in the way
Most picture lights sit as a dark line above the frame, doing their job but drawing the eye all the same. The Alton in white is built to do the opposite: finished to match a plain wall rather than stand out against it, so the piece being lit stays the focus and the fixture itself all but disappears.
A flat, true white finish
The white is applied evenly across the backplate, arm and bar, with no gloss to catch the light and no warmth or tint that would clash with a fresh coat of paint. It sits close enough to a standard white wall that it reads as part of the wall rather than an object fixed to it.
How it works
A single integrated LED strip runs the length of the underside of the bar, casting an even wash of warm white light downward rather than a single bright point. The arm swings out from the wall and the bar itself tilts independently, so the light can be angled down onto a frame or shelf rather than left pointing wherever it happens to hang. It wires directly into the mains as a Class I fitting, so installation is a job for a qualified electrician rather than a plug in job.
Where it works best
Framed art and photography are the obvious fit, and this large size is built for wider pieces, throwing light out evenly to both edges of the frame rather than leaving the corners dim. It works just as well over a run of shelving, a display cabinet or a mirror where a soft, even wash matters more than a dramatic beam, and suits living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and home offices alike.

Questions People Ask
Is the Alton picture light dimmable? No. The integrated LED bar is not compatible with dimmer switches, so it runs at a single fixed brightness.
Can I install this myself? It's a hardwired Class I mains fitting rather than a plug in light, so we always recommend a qualified electrician installs it.
Can the light be aimed at a frame? Yes. The arm swings out from the wall and the bar tilts independently, so you can angle the light down onto the artwork or shelf beneath it.
Can the LED be replaced if it fails? The LED strip is integrated into the bar rather than fitted as a separate bulb, so it isn't a like for like swap in the way a standard lamp would be.
