Elstead Aegean 8 Light Chandelier - Polished Brass

This is the eight light Aegean chandelier in Polished Brass, a mirror bright finish that throws back light rather than absorbing it the way a brushed metal would. The wirework cage at the centre and the twisted drop beneath it are the same shapes found elsewhere in the range, just dressed in a shinier coat.

Design

Eight scrolled arms fan out in two tiers, each one finishing in a square cut glass sconce that catches and scatters light from the candle style bulbs above it.

How it works

Eight E14 fittings sit openly across the arms rather than hiding behind a shade, so expect a scattered, candlelit sort of glow rather than a single bright glare. The chain adjusts from 55cm to 181cm of drop, and fitting dimmable bulbs means the light level can be brought right down.

Where it works best

At 65cm across it needs a bit of room, so it tends to suit taller hallways, stairwells and dining rooms rather than a modest sized bedroom.
