A burst of gold, folded by hand
The Pulse wall sconce is formed from dozens of small cones of fine iron mesh, individually folded and layered so they fan outward from a central point like petals caught mid bloom. Seen straight on, it reads almost like a dahlia or a firework frozen at its fullest moment, with the open mesh letting light glow through the gaps between the folded layers rather than shining out as a single beam.
Gold leaf finish
Every layer of mesh is finished in gold leaf, so the warm gold tone follows each fold and curve rather than sitting flat across one surface. That texture means the finish looks slightly different from every angle, brighter where the light catches a folded edge and softer in the mesh between, giving the piece real depth rather than a flat sheen. It pairs comfortably with warm woods, brass hardware and deep, rich wall colours.
How it works
A single integrated LED, rated up to 18W, sits at the centre of the piece and shines outward through the mesh. The fixture measures approximately 45.7cm high and 30.5cm wide, projecting around 20.3cm from the wall on a round backplate roughly 17cm across, so it needs a reasonable stretch of clear wall to sit comfortably.
Where it works best
Given its size and sculptural shape, the Pulse works best as a single statement piece rather than in a matching pair, somewhere it has room to be seen properly: above a console table, as a feature in a dining room alongside pendant lighting, or on a hallway wall where guests will see it face on as they arrive.
About Corbett
For over 40 years, Corbett Lighting has built its name on fixtures that behave more like jewellery than everyday light fittings, bold and sculptural in a way the brand calls its own sophisticated, chic style. Corbett belongs to the Hudson Valley Lighting Group, the family business that also makes Mitzi and Troy Lighting, and its story starts long before any of those names existed, with Brooklyn inventor William Littman, who watched fluorescent lighting debut at the 1939 New York World's Fair and never quite lost interest in it. His grandson, David Littman, later channelled that same interest into founding Hudson Valley Lighting Group in the 1980s, the company Corbett still designs under today.
