An Art Deco fan, cast in gold
Moxy takes its shape from Art Deco fan and fluting motifs: pleated blades of metal flare out from a narrow gold band at the centre, opening upward and downward into two symmetrical points. When lit, the effect is dramatic, warm light spills out along the top and bottom edges of the pleats, casting a soft glow up and down the wall on either side of the fixture.
Gold Leaf finish
The metal is finished in Gold Leaf, giving it a bright, polished warmth rather than a matte or brushed look, and the pleats catch and reflect light along their length so the fixture has real presence even before it's switched on. It suits richly coloured walls and interiors with an Art Deco or glamorous edge especially well, though it reads just as confidently against a plain neutral background.
How it works
Two E14 candelabra bulbs (up to 60W each, not included) sit behind the pleated band at the centre. The sconce measures 8 inches wide and 15.75 inches high, projects 4 inches from the wall, and mounts to a backplate roughly 5.25 inches wide by 10 inches high.
Where it works best
Its narrow, vertical profile and dual direction light make it a natural fit for hallways, either side of a fireplace, or flanking a bed or console table, anywhere you'd like a warm decorative glow rather than a primary light source. Fit it with warm white candelabra bulbs for the fullest Art Deco effect.
About Corbett
Corbett Lighting has built a reputation over more than 40 years for bold, sculptural fixtures that the brand likens to jewellery for the home, with a sophisticated, chic style running through the whole collection. Corbett sits within Hudson Valley Lighting Group alongside Mitzi and Troy Lighting, a family owned company whose story starts with Brooklyn inventor William Littman, who filed lighting patents in 1939 after being struck by the fluorescent displays at that year's World's Fair in New York. His grandson David Littman went on to found Hudson Valley Lighting Group itself in the 1980s, carrying that same inventive streak forward into the brands it makes today.
