Layers of textured glass
Ciro is built from dozens of individual glass pieces, each with a rough, textured surface that scatters light rather than passing it through in a clean, even glow. Arranged in two overlapping tiers around a ribbed metal drum, the panels stagger up and down rather than lining up neatly, giving the fixture an irregular, handmade rhythm once it's lit from within. It hangs from a single rigid rod rather than a chain, which keeps its silhouette clean and architectural rather than ornate.
Antique Silver Leaf finish
The ribbed band that holds the glass in place has a warm, antiqued metal tone with real variation across its surface, some sections catching the light in a paler champagne shade, others sitting darker and more shadowed, so it never reads as flat or uniform. It's paired with a slimmer rod and ceiling canopy finished in a cooler, brushed tone, giving the fixture a quiet contrast between its frame and its hardware. That warmth works well against aged brass door furniture, dark woodwork, or a black ceiling rose, and it softens nicely against both pale and deep wall colours.
How it works
Ciro takes 5 candelabra E12 bulbs, rated up to 60W each. The drum measures 20 inches across and 12 inches deep, with a 7.5 inch canopy at the ceiling, and the rod is adjustable so the fixture can hang anywhere from around 20 inches to just over 5 feet below the ceiling, making it easy to set the right drop for a standard or a taller room.
Where it works best
At 20 inches across, Ciro sits comfortably over a round or square dining table for four to six, or works as a single statement piece in a hallway or landing with enough headroom to enjoy the tiered glass from below. It also suits a kitchen island hung a little lower, or a stairwell where the light can be seen from more than one level.
About Corbett
For more than 40 years, Corbett Lighting has been designing bold, sculptural fixtures that borrow more from fine jewellery than from ordinary light fittings, a style the brand describes as its sophisticated chic. Corbett sits within Hudson Valley Lighting Group, a family business that also makes Mitzi and Troy Lighting, with a history going back to 1939, when Brooklyn inventor William Littman saw the fluorescent lighting displays at that year's New York World's Fair and was inspired to start experimenting with light himself. Decades later, his grandson David Littman built on that foundation to found Hudson Valley Lighting Group in the 1980s, and the group's collections still carry that original curiosity forward today.
