The Unit Itself

This is a single white handheld remote with a moulded keypad and a small LCD screen that shows the current setting as you scroll through the menu. Rows of labelled buttons cover detection range, daylight sensing, mounting height, standby dimming and standby power, alongside dedicated Apply, Scenes, Auto, Start, Send, Memory, Reset and Test keys. The ON/OFF button is picked out in red so it is easy to find without looking down at the unit, and a removable back cover gives access to the battery compartment.

How It Works

Point the remote at the sensor lens on the fitting and step through the labelled buttons to change how far it detects movement, how long the light stays on once it stops sensing anyone, and how much daylight has to be present before the sensor lets the fitting switch on. The Memory and Apply keys let you save a set of adjustments and carry them across to another compatible fitting, which is useful when several units on the same site need to match.
