The Right Facing Arrow Legend for the Salvus Exit Box
This is the arrow right legend for Collingwood's Salvus Emergency Exit Box, product code EMBXRI. It is the printed green panel that carries the running man symbol and the directional arrow, sold on its own so the escape route can point where the fire strategy says it should. The luminaire behind it stays exactly as it is.
Buying the legend separately is what makes the Salvus range so easy to plan around. One exit box, four possible directions, decided on site rather than at the order stage.
Green PVC, Printed to the Safety Sign Standard
The legend is made from PVC and printed in the familiar safety green with a white running man and a white arrow pointing right. Collingwood builds these to ISO 3864-1, the international standard that fixes the colour, shape and symbol used on safety signage, so the graphic sits consistently alongside the other exit signs already in the building instead of looking slightly off. The finish is flat and matt rather than glossy, which is what you want behind an illuminated panel.
How It Works
The legend fits into an existing Collingwood Salvus Emergency Exit Box. The box is the powered part, holding the LED board and the battery, and the legend is the graphic panel that sits in front of it and gets backlit. Because the direction lives in the label rather than in the fitting, changing which way an exit sign points is a matter of swapping a panel, not taking a luminaire off the wall and rewiring it.
What you receive is the PVC legend on its own. The exit box, the LEDs, the battery and the gear are all separate.
Where It Works Best
Anywhere a Salvus Exit Box needs to send people to the right. A corridor junction where the protected route turns, a stair core landing, an open plan office floor where the nearest fire door sits off to one side, a warehouse aisle feeding a side exit. It is also the part to reach for during a refit, when partitions move and yesterday's arrow now points at a wall, or when a legend has faded or been damaged while the box behind it is still perfectly serviceable. Contractors often order the exit boxes first and then pick legends position by position once the escape plan is signed off.

Questions People Ask
What is included with the Collingwood EMBXRI legend?
The Collingwood EMBXRI is a single PVC legend label printed with a running man and a right pointing arrow. It does not include the Salvus Emergency Exit Box, the LED board or the battery, which are all bought separately.
Which fitting does the Salvus arrow right legend fit?
The EMBXRI legend is made for the Collingwood Salvus Emergency Exit Box. It is not a universal sticker and is not intended for exit luminaires from other manufacturers.
What standard is the Collingwood Salvus exit legend printed to?
Collingwood Salvus exit box legends are printed to ISO 3864-1, the international standard that sets the colours, shapes and symbols used on safety signs. Collingwood is also a member of ICEL, the emergency lighting industry body.
Can the direction of a Salvus exit sign be changed after installation?
Yes. Direction on a Salvus Emergency Exit Box is set by the legend panel, so swapping in a different legend changes the arrow without replacing the luminaire. Left, right, up and down versions are sold individually.
What warranty comes with the Collingwood Salvus exit box legend?
This Collingwood Salvus exit box legend is covered by a 1 year warranty.
