A Permanent Seal For Outdoor Cable Joins
The JB6 is a small inline connector for joining two cable ends together outdoors, with the join filled with gel to keep water out for good, to an IP68 rating. It's a neater, more lasting way to join outdoor lighting cable than tape or a wrapped bag ever will be.
Built Around a Single Sealed Terminal Block
The JB6 is made from black plastic and built around a single terminal block secured by one screw. Cable strips down, seats in the block, and the housing closes back over it with gel filling the space around the joint. No cable is supplied with the connector, so you'll need your own to run into either side.
How It Works
Open the housing, strip both cable ends and seat them in the terminal block, then close the screw back down. Once shut, the gel inside surrounds the connection completely, sealing it against water to an IP68 rating, which covers protection from dust and from continuous submersion.
Where It Works Best
Use the JB6 to extend runs of Collingwood's WCR275 cable, the cable used across a lot of the brand's ground light and spike light ranges. It lets you add length between a fitting and its power source without leaving an exposed joint buried in soil or set into a wall, so it suits underground runs, planted borders and any spot where a joint will sit permanently wet.
