The JB4 is a gel filled junction box for joining outdoor series wired lighting, such as bollards or ground lights run in sequence. Inside is a single terminal block packed in gel, which seals the connection against water once it's closed up, and because the gel doesn't set hard, the box can be opened and reused if you need to add or move a fitting later.
It takes 2 core cable between 6.5mm and 12mm outside diameter, and is rated IP68, submersible to 1.3m, so it copes with wet ground or standing water without issue. The compact size, at roughly 93.5mm by 36mm, means it's easy to bury or tuck away discreetly rather than leaving a bulky box on show.
It's built from plastic, comes with a 1 year warranty, and as with any outdoor wiring job, Moonlight Design recommends having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
