A Compact Floodlight With the Colour Choice Built In
The FL01 is the smallest floodlight in Collingwood's colour switchable range, rated at 10W and sized for spots where a full sized floodlight would be overkill. Rather than committing to one colour temperature at the point of manufacture, this fitting lets you pick between three during installation, so it settles into the exact spot it's needed without being the wrong shade for the job. A built in PIR sensor means it switches on when it detects movement, making it as much a security fixture as a light.
Black Cast Aluminium, Built for the Outdoors
This version comes in black painted cast aluminium, a finish chosen for wear as much as looks. It sits flush against a wall with a low, angular profile rather than a bulky floodlight housing, and the matt black keeps it unobtrusive on brick, render or timber cladding. The PIR sensor housing sits just below the main head in the same black finish, so the whole fitting reads as one unit rather than a light with an add on sensor bolted beneath it.
How It Works
- Colour switchable between 3000K, 4000K and 6500K, chosen during installation rather than fixed at the factory
- 10W output with a 120 degree beam angle, wide enough to cover a doorway, path or side passage
- PIR motion sensor built in, so the light responds to movement rather than running continuously
- Driver is built into the fitting, so it wires straight to the mains without a separate driver to install
- Wired in parallel and rated Class I, so it needs an earth connection as part of the installation
- Mounting bracket adjusts through 180 degrees and the head itself rotates through 360 degrees, so it can be angled precisely once fixed to the wall
Where It Works Best
Its small size makes the FL01 a good fit for side passages, back gates, small courtyards or the corner of a garden where a large floodlight would be too much fixture for the space. It suits anyone who wants a straightforward security light over a door or along a boundary wall without lighting up the whole garden. Because the colour temperature is chosen on site, it also works well where it needs to match the tone of other outdoor lighting already installed nearby.
Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. The brand states it was among the first to bring fire rated, fully waterproof and mains dimmable LED products to the UK electrical wholesale market, a claim rooted in its early focus on this side of the industry. Collingwood has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
Can I change the colour temperature after it's installed?
No. The colour temperature is set using a switch during installation and isn't designed to be changed afterwards, so the installer chooses between 3000K, 4000K and 6500K at that point.
Does it need a separate driver?
No. The driver is built into the fitting, so it connects directly to the mains supply without any extra components to wire in.
Is this floodlight dimmable?
No, the FL01 is not a dimmable fitting.
How rugged is the housing?
It's IP65 rated against water and dust, and IK07 rated for impact resistance, both aimed at everyday outdoor use rather than an enclosed or sheltered spot.
Can the floodlight be angled once it's mounted?
Yes. The head rotates through 360 degrees and the mounting bracket adjusts through 180 degrees, so it can be aimed precisely after it's fixed to the wall.
