A DMX lighting desk or controller sends its instructions down a DMX512 line, but Collingwood's colour change fittings need that instruction converted into an RGBW or RGB signal before they can respond to it. The DMX2102 is the decoder that makes that conversion, sitting between the DMX control line and the low voltage circuit it drives.

A Compact Plastic Unit With Screw Terminals

The DMX2102 is a plastic bodied unit measuring 170mm long, 58mm wide and 28.5mm deep, and weighs 0.2kg. Screw terminals on one side take the DC power feed and the incoming DMX signal, including a through connection for daisy chaining on to the next decoder, while terminals on the other side carry the RGBW output on to the fitting.
